While Rev. Slettedahl was serving the newly formed Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kent he became acquainted with the settlers on the hill. He met with them at their first official congregational meeting and worked with the women in the community to form the Ladies’ Aid organization in 1901.
